Winter Strongman Challenge


Saturday 17th January 2015 saw the first ever 'Winter Strongman' event, this was held at 'Glow', Bluewater in Kent.
DiffusedLight Photography were asked to be the official photographers for this great event.

The event was put on by 'The Strongman Sanctuary' of Ash in Kent and Laurence Shahlaei, (2x Britains Strongest Man, 6x Worlds strongest Man competitor, official Guinness World Record holder, 2x Giants Live Winner).
Laurence & Worlds Strongest man, Zydrunas Savickas were referees for the day, compare was Caroline Pearce.

Doors were due to open at 12.30pm but with over 1600 descending on the GLOW venue, they had to open early.

Competitors for the event included: Eddie Hall, Krzysztof Radzikowski, Ervin Katona, Rob Frampton, Adam Bishop, Tom Shaw, John Clarke & Mikey Lane, who all came in to the arena to their own chosen music. Mikey Lane was a little different to all the usual rock music, he choose, 'I'm too Sexy' by Right Said Fred.

The day started off with the Monster truck, arm over arm pull. The Monster truck was supplied by 'Big Truck Events' in Guildford, Surrey.

Log Reps, Superyoke, Deadlift reps and the Loading Race, were to follow.

Suppliers of equipment for these events included Watling tyres & Pindens (For the loading race), Signs and print in Wilmington for the banners and vehicle sign-writing!

After the event all the athletes stayed to meet & sign autographs for the public which was a nice little touch to show their appreciation for the great support the public gave on the day.
