Peddle Power - A photo shoot with Gio and his Bike (Molly Coddles)
Sunday 31st July, Time to take a ride out with my friend and fellow photographer Giovanni (Gio).
I have known Gio for quite a few years now, we both meet up on a photography group shoot in Canterbury, since then we have
done numerous photography events and jobs together, I have always admired Gio's photography work and have learnt a lot from him,
But now he has another passion apart from his Photography, and that is his bike.. Molly Coddles !
Not sure why she is called Molly Coddles, I dare not ask..
Gio had asked me to take a few photos of him and his other half Molly Coddles, I thought this would be a great opportunity to practice using
off camera flash, something I had been wanting to do for a while.
On this Sunday we could not have asked for better weather, Dry, Sunny and nice white clouds, perfect for what we wanted to do with
the flash work.
You will see from the images below, we used flash on most of them, the flash was a Pixapro PowerCore 600 from Essential Photo,
this is a reasonably priced, reliable portable flash unit that comes with separate battery pack and wireless trigger set.
A little bit about Molly Coddles..
She has a titanium Moda Frame, which is custom painted in a Chromacoat, Chromaflair Pearl paint (Special Edition), This was expertly
done by Dave from Colourtech in Dartford Kent, seriously check out some of this guys work, amazing..
The Gearset is a rare Campagnolo Super Record 11-RS, Wheels are Zipp 404 Firecast with Powertap SL+G3 rear hub
(means nothing to me !)
Here are a few of the final images from our afternoon in the garden of Kent, before we called it a day and ended up in Gio's
Big thank you to Gio for getting all geared up and racing up and down the same stretch of road most
of the afternoon, also big thanks to Robbie G for being the lighting man and driver.
